Managing the Risks

A privileged password management (PPM) system becomes the sole location where the most important passwords are stored.

Disclosure	Compromise of the password database would be a security disaster.
Data Loss	Destruction of the password database would create an IT infrastructure disaster.
Non-availability	Loss of access to the password database would disrupt applications, services and IT support functions.

Confidentiality and availability are more important than features.
